Employees and customers at the Lima Meijer were evacuated Sunday evening.
Right around 6 p.m, people were told to leave the store on Elida Road. Emergency crews from American Township Fire Department, the Allen County Sheriff's Office, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Allen County Emergency Services cleared the lot outside as the bomb squad entered the building. The bomb squad robot was sent into the building and recovered what may have been a suspicious package from inside.
Most officers from the agencies involved left the lot just before 10:50 pm, and people were allowed back in to the building.
