Lima parks ready for fun

With the unofficial start of summer this weekend the City of Lima is inviting you and your family to spend some time with them.

The city has nearly 400 acres of park and recreation area for you to enjoy. Crews have been working this spring to get them ready. The parks offer a wide range of possibilities from walking, hiking, bike riding, fishing or just lounging around. Most parks have shelter houses available to rent and two of the parks, Lima Stadium Park and Faurot, have splash pads ready for summer fun.

"We're looking forward to again people getting out to both of those venues and soon in the first part of June, we'll get the pool opened up and all those things that happen at Schoonover will be underway as well," said Lima Deputy Public Works Director, Ric Stolly.

Stolly urges anyone wanting to reserve a shelter house for anytime over this holiday weekend to call their office at 419-221-5195 by Friday afternoon.
