LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Around 200 Lima Senior classmates met again after 50 years.
The music program holds a lot of great memories for many of the '74 graduates. Especially for one couple, who met in band and ended up getting married.
The Class of 1974 held their 50-year reunion Saturday evening. Throughout the night, people looked through old yearbooks and photos, and as a special treat for those who have moved away, Kewpee hamburgers were brought in. There was also a slideshow and candle lighting ceremony to remember all of their friends who have since passed away.
Back in the 1970s, Lima City Schools were made up of 14 elementary schools and 3 junior high schools that fed into Lima Senior. Former students fondly remember their time in the district's quality extracurriculars.
"The district was known for its fabulous music department, and I want to give a plug to my dad; he was our director, Lima Senior Choir Director Paul Krouskop. And then our athletic department was wonderful. Our football team, our basketball team. It was tops," said Kim Krouskop-Howard, a '74 alum who was part of the team that organized the reunion.

"He asked me if I would go out with him, and I said, sure, why not?" recalled Kathy Hollinger. "She'd already gone out with a couple of my friends, and then that didn't work out, so then I was the rebound guy. But I was the rebound forever guy," added her husband, Mark Hollinger.
Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith made a special appearance to commend the class for all of their accomplishments since their time at Lima Senior and for throwing such a big reunion.
