Lima residents have one more chance to get their leaves pick up this season.
The Street Department is finishing up the first round of leaf pick up on Friday, and will be starting their final round on Monday December 13th. So, they asking residents to rake their leaves to the curb this weekend, for crews to pick up. If you can’t get them raked up this weekend, you can get bags at the street department, at 900 S. Collett Street and set your leaves out with the garbage. So far, leaf pick up has been going pretty well this year.
“Yea our first round went fairly well, we did better than we expected to do,” says Warner Roach the Deputy Director of Public Works for the City of Lima. “We had a few equipment issues. Some of them were caused by debris, it’s important that people make sure there is no debris in the leaves when you rake them to the curb lawn. But with the machine issues, we were able to improvise and get them all picked up.”
If you have a large number of leaves or tree debris, you can take it out the Lima Compost Facility on 1227 E. Hanthorn Road. But you will need to bring a water bill to access the facility.
