An open house was held at the Lincoln Park railroad exhibit and small town classic depot. It was in conjunction with a diesel-powered train excursion, from Springfield Ohio, operated by the Ohio rail experience.

Around 250 visitors got to climb on and explore the last Lima locomotive works steam nickel plate road engine that retired in 1958. Plus they were shuttled to the Allen county museum to check out the exhibits there.

Lima volunteers manned the engine along with car number five to explain the history and imagine the days of the railroad.

"It's been an interesting trip since we left this morning," said Tricia Venable, an attendee at the Ohio Rail Excursion. "The whole experience from start to finish, I was looking at the train, and display over here and they were amazing. I would definitely highly recommend this experience. Even if you can't take the train ride... it's really cool."

"I love it. I've done it several years in a row with my son," said Gary Skora, an attendee at the Ohio Rail Excursion. "We keep coming back every year. It's a great town to visit."
