LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Many of our local communities are hosting events to honor those who gave all for their country.
LIMA - Memorial Day Parade from 10-11 on Main Street in Lima, featuring a military flyover at 10:20 AM. Lima Catholic churches holding outdoor Mass at Gethsemani Cemetery in Lima at 11:30 AM. Wreath laying ceremony at American Legion Post 96 at 12. Community Aquatic Park hosting a celebration featuring their "Lucky Duck Drop" where one family will receive a seasonal membership pass
LAFAYETTE - Memorial Day Parade beginning at 9:30, and a traditional service at the Restored Monument near the Lutheran Church at 10
BLUFFTON - Memorial Day Parade beginning at 9:30, service at 10 at Maple Grove Cemetery
SPENCERVILLE - Memorial Day Parade beginning at 10:30, ceremony to follow at Spencerville Cemetery
DELPHOS - Memorial Day Parade beginning at 10:45 along Main Street, ceremony to follow at the Delphos Veterans Memorial at 11. Speech delivered by the late Ronald Reagan.
AUGLAIZE COUNTY - Buckland parade begins at 10:00, immediately followed by a service at Buckland Cemetery. Also, services at Wapakoneta's Veterans Park at 12:30 and downtown at the Gold Star Monument around 1:30 and Wapak VFW post around 2.
PUTNAM COUNTY - Ottawa parade begins at 10:30 with a service at the Putnam County Courthouse following the parade. Leipsic starts parade at 10, followed by a program at the Meadows at 10:30.
Of course, those are a few of the events going on in our area that are supporting the sacrifice of our fallen military men and women on Memorial Day.
