Last summer, the Lima area provided the backdrop during the filming of the movie “A Walk with Grace” and Wednesday night the people involved got a sneak peek of the finished product.
Hundreds of people were on hand to check out the movie that was shot in various locations around Allen and Logan counties. The film is about a Los Angeles executive who must return to Ohio after his mother dies and face the daunting task of signing away his family’s factory. The movie is the brainchild of Shawnee graduate Nick Kellis, who is the director, writer, and producer. Kellis was happy to show it off to the people involved.
“It’s humbling to see all of these awesome people here. These are the people I grew up with and so many in this crowd made this movie possible. Not just investors or cast or crew, people who took time out to be extras or just give time and donations or just their support,” commented Nick Kellis.
“It used to be about the big networks and just the big business of filmmaking. And now here we are in a small town, in a community, that pulled together and decided to try and support someone to make their own film, involving their own community,” said Austin St. John.
Kellis says they are entertaining several distributors to sell the film to, either streaming like the Dove Channel, Netflix, or Hulu, or maybe a theatrical release.
