Man charged with fatal shooting at Putnam County business found competent to stand trial

26-year-old Konner Dunklee pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity on the charges of aggravated murder, murder, attempting to commit murder, felonious assault, and assault.

PUTNAM COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - A Lima man charged with a fatal shooting at a Putnam County trucking company has been found competent to stand trial.

26-year-old Konner Dunklee pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity on the charges of aggravated murder, murder, attempting to commit murder, felonious assault, and assault. After the mental evaluation, he can stand trial on those charges, but his lawyers are looking for a second evaluation.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff, on April 18, 2024, deputies were called to a trucking company in Leipsic. They found 30-year-old Farrah Croninger of Deshler dead and 54-year-old Michael Kitchen injured from gunshot wounds. Dunklee took off from the scene and was arrested the same day in rural Allen County. He is currently in the Putnam County Jail on a one-million-dollar bond.
