Mental Health Examination for Matheny

A mental health examination has been granted for the man accused of using a Molotov cocktail to rob a Bluffton bank.

Lawyers agreed to have the Forensic Psychiatry Center in Dayton complete a mental competency evaluation for 43 year old Brian Matheny of Michigan. Matheny is charged with aggravated robbery from an incident in late October at the chase bank in Bluffton. Police say Matheny gave tellers a note that threatened an explosion if he was not  given money.

Matheny then led troopers on a short pursuit on I-75. When he got out of his vehicle, Matheny dropped a Molotov cocktail. Troopers were able to put out the fire and arrest Matheny in less than an hour.
