They do everything from assisting patients to raising money with the gift and thrift shop and their holiday bazaars. The volunteer auxiliary presented the final installment in their $1 million pledge. The $295,000 check completed their current 5-year pledge to the graduate medical education building. "Our volunteers share their time and talent. They're very generous in so many areas. They're just so giving in ways that make a difference in people's lives," said Sue Dew, president of the Volunteer Auxiliary Board.

"They are the heart and soul of St. Rita's. They are the first people you see when you walk in the doors. They are the ones coming to bring items of comfort. They are the ones dropping off flowers. Helping even behind the scenes," commented Sara Heitmeyer, director of volunteer and auxiliary resources.
