Moosestock celebrates 20 years

Moosestock has returned to the shores of Grand Lake St. Marys for the 20th year.

The three-day event at Celina Moose Lodge #1473 brings in Moose members from around the area for a weekend of live music and socializing. Local band Triple Shot started Sunday's festivities off. Saw Creek, Brother Believe Me, and a Beatles cover band will take the stage as well. The event has grown tremendously over the past two decades, bringing in thousands to the area.

"It started out very, very small and now it's grown into a major event," says Jim Monroe, and administrator for the lodge. "We'll have probably close to 2-3,000 people here this evening by the time it's over. Kind of an end of the year summer party. People really enjoy it. They relax and we have a lot of room here to have fun."

The lodge raised about $5,000 from the dock auctions Sunday morning and are expecting to raise about another $5,000 before the night is over.
