More charges filed against Kyle Baker

The Allen County Grand Jury has placed additional charges against a teacher who allegedly had sexual conduct with a 14-year-old girl.

The grand jury has indicted 27-year-old Kyle Baker on five counts each of sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and one count of tampering with evidence. Baker was originally charged with just one count of sexual battery.

In December, Baker was arrested by Shawnee Township Police after he picked up a student. They were working off of a tip that he had a relationship with the victim. Baker was a physical education teacher at Shawnee School District, and the district placed him on unpaid leave following his arrest.

Just last week, Baker was brought into court because he was trying to contact the teenage girl through letters given to her by a fellow student who had a relative in the jail serving with Baker. He could face additional charges for breaking the conditions of his bond.
