LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The City of Lima is now accepting applications for its Neighborhood Impact Grants, which provide up to $1,500 for projects designed to benefit local neighborhoods.

Eligible projects include cleaning up a park, coordinating a recycling event, or creating a pocket park. Organizers say the possibilities are nearly limitless, as long as the project qualifies under the Community Development Block Grant program. The city will award three grants, and qualifying projects may receive an additional $1,500 from Activate Allen County if they meet extra requirements.

Applications are available on the City of Lima’s website and are due by 5 p.m. on Nov. 7. The Neighborhood Impact Grant program was created to strengthen Lima neighborhoods and encourage volunteerism.
