Northwest Ohio Literacy Council's annual Scrabble tournament

It has been helping people learn to read for more than a decade, and you can be a part of it.

The Northwest Ohio Literacy Council will be holding its 13th annual Scrabble tournament. With one in six adults in Lima reading at a third grade level, the Literacy Council is crucial in providing services to those facing communication challenges. The Scrabble tournament is an opportunity for people to support the Literacy Council's mission.

Teams of four to five people will compete in four, 15-minute rounds, to see how many words they can come up with from the tiles. Organizers say it's fun for the whole family. The tournament is Saturday, February 10, 2018 from noon until 3 p.m. at the St. Rita's Auxiliary Conference Center. The entry fee is $20 per person or $80 per team.
