A crash in Shelby County turned deadly earlier today(12/4/19) and the sheriff's office has launched an investigation.
It happened in the 17,000 block of State Route 119 around 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. The sheriff's office says a Cadillac car went left of center and hit another car head-on. The driver of that car died on the scene. The Cadillac's driver was taken to an emergency room and is expected to be okay. Several agencies were called in to help.
Press Release from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office: On December 4, 2019 at approximately 3:09 PM, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office received a report of a two vehicle crash in the 17,000 block of State Route 119. Preliminary investigation indicated a 2007 Cadillac sedan was traveling eastbound, while a 2015 Honda sedan was traveling westbound. The Cadillac traveled left of center into the westbound lane while cresting a hill, and struck the Honda head-on. The driver of the Cadillac was transported by rescue squad to Wilson Health for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.Â
Assisting at the scene were the Jackson Center Fire Department, Anna Rescue Squad, and the Shelby County Coroner's Office.
