LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Salvation Army is in the process of preparing for its December Christmas Assistance Program.
July 8th opened the early online sign-up for Christmas Assistance. It's a step-by-step process that will get you signed up so you will not have to go to the Salvation Army in the fall. This is the second year of the process that has helped alleviate long lines at the October in-house sign-up.
"And it just gives us time to process as much information as we can because it's a lot. There's a lot of people we help. We've helped over 1,300 kids I think, last year alone. Just children; that's not counting the families," stated Paul Downing, operations manager at the Lima Salvation Army.
You can go to the website https://saangeltree.org/ to start the online signup process. If you have questions, just call the Salvation Army's office at (419) 224-9055 to get assistance. You can sign up now through October 6th. In-person sign-ups will be on October 1st and 2nd.
