Residents in Ottawa enjoyed good food and music for their lunch to help do some good in the community.
The Meadows Nursing Homes sponsored a Lunch in the Park at Water Works Park. The community came out for taco salad and music by local singer Bob Clark. The event is held every third Thursday during the summer. The all-ages lunch is the center's biggest way of raising money to money to provide services to the area seniors.
"It helps us to keep running," says Sue Pester, Treasurer for the Senior Citizens Center. "If we don't have something like this we don't get to do things with the seniors and so on and we want to have activities for the seniors and this helps provide money so we can do those different things."
The next Lunch in the Park will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Water Works Park in front of the Senior Citizens Center.
