Overflow Parking Shuttle Planned for Saturday’s Koe Wetzel Concert

LIMA, Ohio — More than 6,500 people are expected to attend Koe Wetzel’s concert Saturday night at the Allen County Fair, creating increased demand for parking at the fairgrounds.

Fair officials are encouraging concertgoers to take advantage of a shuttle service provided through a partnership with the Allen County Regional Transit Authority and Ohio State University Lima. Troy Elwer, operations manager for the Allen County Fair, said the large concert crowd, combined with regular fair attendance, is expected to put significant pressure on available parking.

“We’re expecting over 6,500 people for the concert inside the grandstands on top of all of our general public traffic coming through,” Elwer said. “So that’s really going to put a stressor on our parking lots.”

The shuttle will operate from Lot C on the Ohio State University Lima campus to the Allen County Fairgrounds from 6:30 p.m. to midnight Saturday. Fair officials say the shuttle is intended to provide an overflow parking option and help ease congestion around the fairgrounds.
