The Democratic parties of Allen and Van Wert Counties have appointed John Parent as the new mayor for the City of Delphos.
The party was responsible for replacing former Democratic Mayor Michael Gallmeier who resigned for health reasons. A statement from the party says Parent has a skill set they felt would be a valuable addition to the City of Delphos. John Parent is also expected to be a candidate for Delphos Mayor on the November ballot.
The Ohio Secretary of State's Office must certify Parent as mayor, before he can be officially sworn in .
