New developments in the hit and run that killed a teenage girl in Auglaize County.
Authorities say they have located a person and vehicle of interest in that crash. Lieutenant Craig Cvetan says a dark pickup truck was driving eastbound on County Road 33A near Barrington Road when they hit 14-year-old Emily Rempe of St. Marys on June 9th. Rempe was transported to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital where she died from her injuries.
Lieutenant Cvetan says they have located a person and vehicle of interest. They are processing evidence to determine if the vehicle is the one involved in the crash. Officers say Rempe was walking in the eastbound lane at the time of the accident and the driver did not stop after hitting her. Witnesses who saw the vehicle say it could be black or blue with dually or flared sides, and smokestacks or a roll bar in the bed.
