A new study shows more drivers are worried about people driving under the influence of drugs than alcohol.
According to a AAA poll from Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, 74% of people think those that drive after using illegal drugs are a "very serious threat", compared to 71% for those who drink and drive.
Sergeant Adam Brincefield with the Van Wert Highway Patrol Post says they've seen an increase in drug impaired driving over the past year, and it carries the same charge as driving drunk. "It's just as dangerous, some of these drugs alter your ability to react to situations and also slows your overall reaction time down, so obviously that's a concern for all motorists," said Sergeant Brincefield.
If you see an impaired driver on the road you are encouraged to call law enforcement.
