LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Public servants of the city of Lima came together Thursday night to explain what they've been working on lately to residents.
The heads of five different city departments, such as the police department and public works, took time to speak and answer questions at City Focus held at Vibe Coffeehouse. The free public discussion covered topics like ongoing construction projects, street safety, crime rates, and how the use of technology has increased the number of suspects captured for various offenses.
City Focus is part of the local government's ongoing efforts to help people make their voices heard.
"One of our goals was to increase communication with the public and to be able to let people know that we're approachable, we're here to answer questions, but also to let people know that we are a representative government. We're here to hear from you about how we're doing, we're here to hear from you about some ideas of how we can improve," explained Lima's mayor, Sharetta Smith.
If you were unable to attend City Focus, you can watch a full video of the discussion on the City of Lima Facebook page.
