PUTNAM COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - The libraries of Putnam County are going the extra mile to make reading interesting for kids this summer.
Kids at the Columbus Grove branch learned all about space today as part of the season's "The Adventure Begins at Your Library Series." Through hands-on activities and crafts, they learned about the power of UV light, the phases of the moon, and the scale of objects in the solar system. Each week, the libraries will highlight books about a variety of different "adventurous" topics.
"It gets them in the library and then also just finding books on different topics and interests that they might have, that then they can say, 'Cool, I'm interested in space,' or whatever other topic," said Elyse Schroeder, youth services assistant at the Putnam County District Library.
