COLUMBUS GROVE, Ohio (WLIO) - Columbus Grove hosted the 13th annual Putnam County Arts Festival on Sunday.
The Putnam County Arts Festival is a time for artistic students to shine and show off their hard work throughout the year. This event is a combination of a visual art show, as well as a performance of the honors band and choir. The honors ensembles have nearly 135 students from all nine districts in Putnam County. By showcasing these talents, each student involved is able to share their work and make new friends across the county.
"Today is a day to celebrate the arts. We don't have a lot of art opportunities in our county for students, so we like to highlight that as much as we can," says Melissa Basinger, Curriculum Coordinator for the Putnam County ESC.
By highlighting arts, students who take the more creative route are able to celebrate their wins too. Not only did the students leave feeling accomplished, but Putnam County locals were also able to see how much time is put into the arts programs.
