OTTAWA, Ohio (WLIO) - With a new day and a different venue, the Ottawa Farmers Market has everything you need.

Located outside the Veterans of Foreign Wars building, the Ottawa Farmers Market looks to ignite this Fourth of July week by providing all the barbeque must-haves, from burgers on the grill to fresh vegetables for the family.

With more vendors than ever, the market credits the community for their feedback, which has resulted in great turnouts all summer long. One change this year allows for residents to use their SNAP benefits to buy food.

More vendors, more access: Ottawa Farmers Market grows with community support

"Just being part of change in Ottawa and just the county in general. We have an event here that we're bringing residents to be able to purchase, and not just purchase from the big chain stores. They can get fresh produce from their neighbors and build the local economy. It's just something to do on another night during the week. I feel like, everywhere I've been in the U.S., anywhere that has a farmers' market, it always seems to be a culture, some change, and progress. That's what I'm hoping to be a part of," told Andrew Burwell, Health Educator for the Putnam County Health Department.

The Ottawa Farmers Market is open every Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm through the end of August.
