The Mercer County District Library has been undergoing renovations spanning nearly two and a half years, and they now get to enjoy the finished product just in time for the holidays.
With the completion of all their renovations, they opened their doors this afternoon to community for a Holiday Open House. They wanted to thank the families and organizations who made all the changes possible and they figured what better way than inviting people to take tours of the facility.
"The library is more than just books and we want to meet the needs of our community, and we were seeing a push towards more technology driven, and not necessarily away from books, but in addition to. We're very program driven, and you know we just want to meet the needs of our communities," Liz Muether, Director for the Mercer County District Library, said.
The library has received an all around "facelift" but the highlights are the new work spaces, updated adult reading room and designated areas for various age groups.
