Tuesday, Rick Eddy filed a "designation of treasurer" to start campaign finances to run for Lima Municipal Court Judge. Current judge, David Rodabaugh is retiring after next year. Eddy has been the city's chief prosecutor since 2016 and in the prosecutor's office since 2008. He believes his experience is the right fit to be a municipal court judge and has goals he would like to achieve if he wins the judge's seat.

"Expanding probation, new ideas, you know more modern approaches, that's important. Drug court, that's very important. I'm an original member of both drug courts at the courts in both courtrooms," stated Rick Eddy.

Along with Eddy, Lima Municipal Court Magistrate John Payne has also designated a treasurer with intentions of running for the judge's seat as well. The Allen County Board of Elections says no petitions for the seat have been taken out for the Lima municipal judge's seat that will be on the 2023 primary ballot.
