The trial for John Robinson picked back up today(11/13/19) with a few law enforcement officials taking the stand.

Robinson Trial Day 2: Law enforcement say they encountered Robinson drunk after crash

Two men from the Ohio State Highway Patrol testified they were on scene of a crash on I-75 in Beaverdam involving Robinson and a Michigan family. Both say they spoke to Robinson who had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. A sergeant says he acquired a blood warrant and was present to see Robinson's blood drawn to test for the alcohol in his blood. Through testimony jurors also heard the car Robinson was driving was a work car with GPS tracking that placed him at the scene of the crash.

"He never really gave me too many direct answers," said Sgt. Steven Posada of the OHSP. "He kind of mumbled some things like he said -- he was very adamant that it was not his fault, this crash was not his fault. Continuously told me that the only reason he had taken the path that he did was because of the GPS that told him so."

Robinson called his boss multiple times after the crash. His boss said he had slurred speech, didn't make much sense and exaggerated his injuries for some reason.

"Told me he had a broken sternum and he was bleeding really bad," Joshua Schlosser said, manager at Lima Transportation and Robinson's boss. "Wanted to know what we were going to do to come help him out. Then he stated that he had to go, the doctor was coming in the room. He did not hang up the phone. I kept it on speaker and kept listening. The doctor stated that there was nothing wrong with him."
