A hearing was held Monday afternoon to further look into evidence used in the investigation of Ronald Payne. The 62-year-old Payne is being charged with rape, three counts of attempted rape, 12 counts of gross sexual imposition, two counts of trafficking in persons and 17 counts of using a minor in nudity-oriented material, among other charges.
Defense attorney Greg Donohue questioned the primary investigator on the case about the seizing of Payne's computer and the search they conducted at his home. Judge Jeffrey Reed will make a decision on the motion after the final briefs are submitted on August 5th. The trial date is set for August 22nd.
