WAPAKONETA, OH (WLIO) - If you're looking for a family-friendly holiday event, SAFY has you covered.
November is National Adoption Month, and to help raise awareness, SAFY and the Wapa Theatre are coming together to have a showing of the holiday classic "Home Alone" that the whole family can enjoy. This event is open to the whole community and welcomes any family, big or small.
"As you can kind of assume, large families might not get the opportunity to go to fun activities such as a movie theatre, right? Because the cost can add up. For two people to go to a movie theatre, you're thinking maybe $30. For larger families, it's hundreds of dollars, and that is just crazy. It's an opportunity for larger families to come out," said Sylvia Roop, SAFY foster parent recruiter.
Tickets are being sold for $2 and concessions at the theatre will be open, but guests are welcome to bring their own goodies as they see fit. If you are interested in the process of fostering or adopting, information will be given out at the movie showing. You can also visit safy.org or call them directly at 937-407-0584.
