LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Police Department and West Ohio Food Bank teamed up to host the second annual Trunk-or-Treat at Lima Senior. The Halloween event began at noon and continued its festivities until 2:00 pm. It featured exciting activities, including live music, thrilling games, abundant sweet candy, and even some ominous guests. The school's parking lot was filled with numerous children and their families, all arriving in costumes of their favorite characters. Local businesses from the Lima area handed out delicious candy to them. Overall, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and joy.
"We wanted to provide the kids and families with a safe environment to Trick-or-Treat and get candy. It's also a great way for businesses that are in the community to come out and show their support for the community and kind of also get their name out there as well. They want to be able to give back to the community. They've been handing out candy, they've been giving brochures or flyers for promoting or supporting their businesses. We at the Police department thought this would be a great and safe way to provide for kids for Trunk-or-Treat." added Lt. Matt Douglass of the Lima Police Department.
The Lima Police Department plans to organize the Trunk-or-Treat event again next year.
