The science behind the states of matter was demonstrated to eager young minds at Liberty Arts Magnet School.
Science Enhancement for Science Advancement or SESA brought the program in for third graders at the school, showing off how one state of matter becomes another. The presenters did experiments with dry ice and water and brought up student volunteers to get a closer look at the process.
SESA has been presenting similar programs at schools throughout Allen County over the last 30 years, to make what is sometimes a difficult subject fun for younger students, and encourage a lifetime of love in science.
"We're hoping that the students get very interested in science, we want to do this hands-on science with the kids and get them excited about science," said Steve Maki, a volunteer with SESA. "We live in a technological world - we need scientists, engineers, mathematicians, we need people in those technology fields."
SESA will also be bringing a soil presentation to Liberty Friday, September 27.
