SHELBY COUNTY, OHIO (WLIO) - A Shelby County woman was severely injured when a car she was working on fell on top of her on Thursday.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says the incident occurred just before noon in the 2900 block of River Road in Orange Township. A 34-year-old woman was working on a Cadillac Escalade when a witness reported she removed a bolt from the SUV’s undercarriage, causing the vehicle to move forward. The woman was pinned between the Escalade and the gravel driveway.
Emergency crews arrived on scene and were able to free the woman. Her injuries are considered life-threatening. CareFlight could not fly due to weather conditions, so she was driven to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy for treatment.
