LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Thanksgiving meals are getting cheaper. According to the American Farm Bureau Federation, the popular holiday dinner that centers around turkey has an average cost of 58 dollars for a feast of 10 people.

Notably, a five percent decrease from last year and 4.5 percent lower from 2022. The study also found that the region plays a factor in how much American shoppers tend to spend around the holiday. Save A Lot, Manager, Jerri Johnson states, "I think it's the case just because people have struggled lately. So overall, I think they took that into consideration and the warehouse bringing down prices, especially like the bundles. We are doing two for four. Bringing stuff down so it's more affordable. And I think people weren't celebrating holidays for a while, so it's trying to get back into the groove of family."

"The prices probably have just gone down. There's probably more EBT cards that have been given out, so it's just not as expensive. I like turkey, ham, some homemade macaroni and cheese, sometimes some chicken too, bread rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn," added Aaron Slone, Employee, Save A Lot.

And with Thanksgiving around the corner, it's a perfect time to take advantage of these local grocery store deals while they last.
