Organizers want the students to leave with their futures in mind.

"I think it's really important nowadays for the kids to be able to do the experiments on their own. They can read about them, you can watch them in videos, you can have people talk to you. But when you really get to put your hands on the equipment, that's what makes the difference," says Amy Freymuth, Auglaize County Workforce Administrator.

"I thought a lot about agriculture today, and I didn't think I would like agriculture. But it kind of really just opened my eyes a lot," says Marques Slone, a junior at St. Marys Memorial School.

Organizers want to make Mission Discovery a regular event to not only benefit the students but the employers in our area.

"Moving down to our 8th grade level. We have found to be very beneficial in talking to them early as they progress through their high school career; they can start picking classes that make sense to them based on what they want to do in the future as an adult," says Freymuth.
