Students Move Into Bluffton University for Fall Classes

More than 1,000 students are moving into Bluffton University for the upcoming semester, and they don't have to do it alone.

"They had a team of people that just brought all my stuff into the room, which I'm not used to, but that was pretty cool, it took like ten minutes," said Raelee Hightower, a new transfer student starting at Bluffton University.

The Bluffton Community is here to help make the process easier for current students and newcomers, like Raelee Hightower.

They provide help in all areas, from the football team, "It's rough, like especially going on the third floor, there's no elevators in here, because they're one of our oldest buildings, so I know it's rough to carry a bunch of heavy stuff, so us football players like to help out," said Link LaRoche, a senior football player for Bluffton.

To the leadership of the student body, "I really want them to feel welcome and special here at Bluffton, because we want to make this their home, and so I think that hospitality is really important right from the get go," said Katey Ebaugh, a junior and the Student Senate President.

With $3 million worth of renovations to bathrooms, residence buildings, and other areas of campus, and support from peers, moving into the new school year isn't so hard.

"It's really great to see how people are willing to help each other, I think I'm going to fit in just fine with the community here," said Hightower, "I'm going to miss home, but this is my home for the next two years."
