LIMA, OH (WLIO) - It's an annual tradition on Super Bowl Sunday, and it doesn't have anything to do with sports, but it got a lot of people clapping their hands.
The Lima Chapter of the American Guild of Organists held their annual Super Bowl Organ Recital at Market Street Presbyterian Church. Eight performers helped showcase a wide range of music from sacred, to classical and even patriotic. The concert is a great way to show the complexity of the organ and maybe inspire others to take up the instrument.
“Our mission for the A.G.O., the American Guild of Organists, is share with the community, to share with one another, share with community and educate and try and learn more about the instrument and the history of the instrument,” says Dean Altstaetter, the Dean of the Lima Chapter of the A.G.O. “So, I think this is a great opportunity, for young and old, just to experience one of the greatest, I think, instruments every invented. With all the pipes and all the technology, it’s really a remarkable thing to witness and be a part of.”
This is the 37th year that the Lima Chapter of the American Guild of Organists has put on their Super Bowl Organ Recital.
