COLUMBUS GROVE, OH (WLIO) - Two people were taken to the hospital after a train struck a car in Columbus Grove Thursday morning.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is investigating a car vs. train crash that occurred on 10/10/24 at 0935 hrs.
Putnam County sheriff's deputies say the crash happened at the railroad crossing at Main Street just after 9:30 a.m. 23-year-old Honesty Mallory of Lima was heading south on Main Street when she was struck by a CSX train that was also heading south. Mallory and two passengers were able to get out of the car on their own; the two passengers were taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita's with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
October 10, 2024, Press Release from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office: The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is investigating a car vs. train crash that occurred on 10/10/24 at 0935 hrs. 23-year-old Honesty Mallory of Lima was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox southbound on Main Street in the village of Columbus Grove when she was struck by the train. The train was southbound on the CSX Railroad Tracks. There were two other adult occupants in the vehicle, and all three were able to exit the vehicle. Two of the occupants were transported to Mercy Hospital in Lima with non-life-threatening injuries.
Other agencies assisting at the scene were the Columbus Grove Fire Department and EMS, Pandora Police Department, Kalida Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, CSX Railroad Police, Putnam County Medics, and The Shop-Towing. The crash remains under investigation.
