Three students from Glandorf and Ottawa Elementary Schools are currently going through cancer treatments. Their schoolmates wanted to help them and their families out with some money to use during their treatments. The elementary schools, the high school, St. Peter, and St. Paul schools decided to do a variety of fundraisers, like the walk-a-thon put on by the Glandorf student council to help as much as they can. So far, the total is over $30,000 and climbing.

"They are already in a tough time, they are in a tough time no matter what because of cancer. It makes them feel that they are appreciated, and it makes us feel we are doing good and we are doing a good cause here," said Brandon Warnecke, 8th-grade president of Glandorf Student Council.

"We try and instill in them to be leaders and to lead by example, so they have really embraced it. Here at Glandorf we have a great student council this year, they just ran with it," said Tracey Dickman, Glandorf Student Council Advisor.

All of the money raised will be split three ways and given to the families. Local business and agencies also kicked in to help with the students fundraising efforts.
