Unemployment rates locally remain basically level from April to May.
The Ohio Job and Family Services released the unemployment numbers for May 2022. Allen County had the biggest drop from 3.6% in April to 3.4% in May. Auglaize and Hancock Counties are the only rates to go up in May. Mercer County is tied for the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 2.1%. Hardin, Logan, and Shelby Counties didn't change from month to month. Paulding and Van Wert counties fell 0.1%. Which is the same as the state as a whole, as Ohio dropped from 3.7% to 3.6 from April to May.
