LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) students put their best foot forward Thursday at the annual Spring Career Fair.

The event, a university tradition for more than 20 years, gives students the opportunity to meet face-to-face with potential employers from across the United States and learn more about what companies have to offer.

Employers are seeking graduates from a variety of programs, including business and marketing, automotive, agricultural, and robotics. In addition to exploring career options, the fair gives students a valuable opportunity to practice their networking skills.

“A lot of people think that this career fair is only for Tech students, but it's really awesome opportunity for all students of the college, because every business is a business. You need the business administration, you need the marketing aspect of it. And it's really cool to go out with a different perspective and be able to talk to people about all aspects of their business,” says Jeb Bender, Business Marketing Program.

“Oh yeah, it's really good to research and find what everybody has to offer, and possibilities are endless, you just got to find the right people,” says Cole Turbeville, High Performance Program.

With graduation just around the corner, some students are already taking the first steps toward their future careers.

"There's a lot of companies that come with the intention of hiring students. We actually had an interview section on top of the stage, so that they could conduct interviews while they're here. There's a lot of students getting offered jobs and getting hired and getting ready to move home, and they're going with employment. So that's the goal here. We want everybody to be employed and happy and things are going really well,” says Jacob Hixenbaugh, UNOH director of career services.

UNOH hosts two career fairs each year for its students.
