In 2017 the Allen County Community Health Needs assessment showed that 5% of adults were without health care coverage in the county.
Those most likely to be uninsured were adults under the age of 30 and African Americans. It's also reported that 37% of adults have not had a routine check-up in the last year. The Bridging the Gap Health and Wellness Expo was created to reach out to those underserved in healthcare. It provides the opportunity to learn about resources available in the community to help with their health in a family-friendly environment. local health officials encourage the public to attend.
The Health and Wellness Expo will be Saturday, April 14th at Lima Senior High School and will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It's free and open to the public.
