Valarie Dean pleads guilty

The mother of 15-month-old Hayden Ridinger, who was killed a year ago, has pleaded guilty to the two charges she was facing.

25-year-old Valarie Dean has changed her plea and pleaded guilty to the felony charges of involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment. Judge Martin Burchfield has ordered a pre-sentence investigation, before she finds out how much prison time she will be facing in January.

In September, her former boyfriend, Christopher Peters of Delphos, was found guilty of Ridinger's murder and sentenced to life in prison. Medical experts say that blunt force trauma was the cause of the toddler's death. Throughout the trial, defense attorneys tried to blame Dean, for her son's death.
