An informational booth at the Van Wert County Fair allows residents to sign up for sex offender alerts.
The booth in the commercial building was manned by the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department.
Denny Wagonrod says if you didn’t make it out to the fair you still can sign up for the alerts by going to their website www.vanwertcountysheriff.com and go to the Offender Watch link.
Wagonrod says it’s important to sign up for the alerts because people move in or move out of a neighborhood and by receiving the sex offender email alerts it notifies you in case a registered sex offender moves nearby.
