Wapakoneta Safety Service Director Announces Savings at State of City

Wapakoneta's Safety Service Director announces recent savings at the State of the City.

Safety Service Director Chad Scott announced two major ways the City is saving money, including working with the County's Geographic Information Systems Department. Scott says if the city signed had to sign their own contract for the software and equipment it would've cost them $153,000.

They also found an error in a reimbursement for the zinc farm solar field that was not completed for the last 2 years.

The City received an $81,000 reimbursement. "These are tings that we're already working on, we're looking at another solar field possibly in the City, about 2% of our power is solar right now, and if we could move forward we may be looking at around 6 to 7%," said Scott.

Scott says they are continuing to look at existing contracts and new contracts to save the City money.
