September 5, 2024, Press Release from the Delphos Police Department: On 8-25-2024 officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of E. 8th St, for an unknown disturbance. Officers arrived and met with a male and female at the residence who stated that they were having a verbal disagreement but nothing physical occurred.

On 8-25-2025 officers were advised of an assault that took place in the 300 block of N. Main St. The victim stated that he was at an establishment when three other males arrived. One of the males started an altercation with the victim and then began assaulting him. The incident remains under investigation.

On 8-25-2024 officers along with Delphos Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a vehicle fire on US 30 near E. 5th St. Officers were asked to standby until the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrived to take over the scene.

On 8-26-2024 a female called the police department to report a suspicious male walking around her neighborhood wearing all black with a backpack and his hood pulled up.

On 8-26-2024 officers were sent to the 24000 block of Lincoln Highway for a dispute. The manager there advised officers that a tenant had confronted her aggressively about a complaint.

On 8-26-2024 officers investigated a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of N. Franklin and E 4th streets. The driver of one vehicle was issued a citation for failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign.

On 8-26-2024 officers spoke with a female who reported that her had given a male on social media her social security number as well as other personal information.

On 8-26-2024 officers met with a male who stated that he was the victim of a Theft. The male told officers that he had items listed for sale and two men came to look at the items. One male took a large number of items while he was being distracted by the other male. The incident is being investigated by the Detective Bureau.  

On 8-27-2024 officers were sent to the 200 block of N. Jefferson St, for a loud music complaint.

On 8-27-2024 a male called the police department to report an on-going issue with dogs at two separate residences barking for long periods of time.

On 8-27-2024 Delphos Schools Resource Officer investigated an assault complaint involving three female students. The report was sent to the Juvenile Prosecutor for review of charges.

On 8-27-2024 a male came to the police department with his elderly father to file a report. The male told officers that someone hacked into his father’s bank account and had stolen a large sum of money.

On 8-28-2024 a female came to the police department to file a report. The female told officers that a male, with whom she used to work, was making statements to harm her. The female was requesting a report to obtain a protection order.

On 8-28-2024 officers were asked to check the wellbeing of a resident in the 900 block of Lima Ave, who had an emergency alarm activated at the residence.

On 8-29-2024 a male called the police department stating that his ex-wife was violating a no contact order issued by the court. The male wished to file a report for contempt of court.

On 8-29-2024 a male called to report that his son was assaulted while at school. A report was taken and forwarded to the school Resource Officer for follow-up.

On 8-29-2024 a female contacted the police department to report that she was the victim of a scam and had lost a large sum of money.

On 8-30-2024 a female came to the police department to file a report. The female told officers that the father of her children had assaulted her physically and sexually. The incident is being investigated by the Detective Bureau.

On 8-30-2024 a female called the police department to report that her 15-year-old son had been unruly and left the residence without permission. The female wished to have a report forwarded to her sons’ probation officer.

On 8-30-2024 a male came to the police department to file a child abuse report. The male told officers that he picked up his daughter for his scheduled visitation with her and found bruises on her back and buttocks.

On 8-30-2024 officers were sent to the 1400 block of S. Clay St, after a male called stating that he believed someone was trying to break into his residence.

On 8-31-2024 officers responded to the 1100 block of S. Bredeick St, after receiving a complaint of someone shooting off fireworks in the area.

On 8-31-2024 a resident in the 600 block of E. 2nd St, called to report that a male, whom he did not know, was sleeping on his front porch, refusing to leave. Officers met with the male and advised him to leave the property or be arrested for Criminal Trespass. The male stated that he had severe back pain and requested to be transported to the hospital.
