LIMA, Oh (WLIO) — West Central Learning Academy is celebrating after receiving high marks on its latest state report card.
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce presented the school with its sixth "Exceeding the Standards" banner, an honor recognizing outstanding academic achievement in the past academic year.
West Central Learning Academy is a dropout prevention and recovery school serving high school students. The school helps students catch up if they are behind academically and, in some cases, graduate early. School officials are proud of their continued success in exceeding state standards.

“What this means is that our students are performing above what the state of Ohio is expecting our students to perform. Students are exceeding the standards in all areas, especially in graduation rate. We are extremely proud of our students. We have a great staff here at West Central Learning Academy. It's a team effort for all of our students to be able to exceed the standards,” said Mindy Schulz, superintendent of WCLA.

The school's commitment to student success continues to show, as 24 students have already graduated early this school year.
