LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Nursing leaders learned more about how the Borra Center for Health Sciences is training the area's next great nurses.
Representatives from the West Central Ohio Nursing Leadership toured the Borra Center and got to see how Lima Memorial and Rhodes State are using technology to further a student's education in nursing, such as the use of robots and different test areas to provide a real-life scenario for the students.
"So that we can train them using that technology and you get them the tools that they need. The electronic health records, we use high-fidelity simulators so that they can learn here in the a safe environment before they go out and treat the public," explained Melisa Harvey, chair of nursing services.
"We have a lot of nurse leaders from different organizations through West Central Ohio so our goal is hey this is here, this is for you guys to use as well, you know we are doing our best at Rhodes State and other educational centers to make sure that we are producing the workers that we need," said Jaime Quellhorste, director of nursing at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
