Columbus, OH (WLIO) -Â Unemployment numbers started to rise in West Central Ohio in the month of October. According to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, all but one of the counties in our area saw increases from September to October. Allen county jumped to 4.5%, Putnam, and Mercer Counties have the second lowest unemployment rate in the state at 2.9%. Hardin County is the only county in our area that didn't increase last month. They remain at 4%. Logan and Van Wert come in at 3.4% and Paulding and Shelby at 3.5%. Ohio's unemployment rate went up to 4.1% which is above the national rate of 3.4% in October.Â
