The final sentencing today in connection with the murder of Eric Armstead in August of 2010 bringing the case to a close for Allen County Common Pleas Court.
Xavier Arrick was sentenced to three years in prison after a plea was reached in which the state agreed to an admission of guilt to involuntary manslaughter in return for a sentence recommendation of up to three years.
Although prison time is not mandatory for the 3rd degree felony, Judge Richard Warren stated it was consistent with the nature of the crime. Arrick will receive credit for his time already served, which amounts to just more than one year.
Judge Warren told the court that he did take in to account the defendants clean record, good behavior report from his high school, Lima Senior, and his apparent remorse for his actions.
Arrick was the wheelman in the Eric Armstead murder at 620 Madison Avenue. His cooperation with law enforcement broke the case according to judge warren and led to the conviction of his co-defendants.
